The Dwight D. Eisenhower Visitor's Center is one of Massena's busiest tourist attractions as hundreds of tourists and shipwatchers visit the locks each year. The Friends of The Robert Moses State Park Nature Center, Inc.
Since the Nature Center's devastating fire on 3/2/10, we have launched the NC Recovery Fund and are working with NYPA & NYS Parks to re-build the Nature Center. The Nature Center staff are located next to the trails within Robert Moses State Park. Watch for news about our future and new building!!!! Visit our website (which has been updated) at nynaturecenter.org to make a donation to the Nature Center Recovery Fund or email us at ncrebirth@yahoo.com. Nature trails, located near the work trailer, meander through old growth forests, meadows, wetlands and river habitats and are open dawn to dusk daily. The park is uniquely located between the Robert Moses Power Dam and the St. Lawrence Seaways Eisenhower Lock. The Nature Center provides visitors of all ages with an opportunity to learn more about the science and history of animal and plant life that make up the surrounding environment. Grants, fundraising and memberships have allowed the Nature Center to purchase greatly needed items, such as snowshoes, cross country skis and interpretive signs for the trails. The snowshoes and skis are available for rental and we are open year round for both on and off-site programming. Please join us and become a member of the Friends of the Nature Center. The Nature Center staff and Robert Moses State Park welcome you to the wonders of the Nature Center. Explore our site and come visit us in person! The Massena Central School District is located in the heart of the St. Lawrence River Valley. In a beautiful rural setting, just an hour from Ottawa and Montreal, the district includes a population of 15,000 residents on 122 acres of the peaceful St. Lawrence River Valley. Canada is only minutes away and the majestic Adirondack Mountains are within a thirty minute drive.

Massena Nursery School, established in 1959, is a non-for-profit organization. Our parent-governed nursery school depends on the efforts of its families for its success through our volunteers such as the Board of Directors, committee members, and dedicated parents.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer their time, talents and resources in support of the school. A variety of opportunities exist on a school wide, classroom or individual basis. Examples include school wide fundraising efforts, community service events, and assisting the teacher in the classroom on their child's day to be leader by being parent helper.
Facilities and Materials
Massena Nursery School is conveniently located at 265 Andrews Street, Massena, NY in a cheerful and safe building. In each newly built classroom children can explore a wide variety of learning centers equipped with books, creative media, small and large manipulative educational toys, dress up and dramatic play items, blocks, puppets, and computers. In addition to the classroom environment, our students also participate in active music and movement classes that enhance their preschool experience. Our outdoor playground provides an opportunity for gross motor activities and consists of riding toys, swings, a jungle gym and play house. We also have an indoor gym for the colder months.
